Grizelda has been doing administration for more than 8 years. She is the official ‘left brain’ in the office, ensuring all the admin is up to date.
She is the welcoming face at the studio and the friendly voice on the other side of the phone. Grizelda joined the team on the 1st of September 2017.
Gody (As he is known in the studio) has a heart of gold. He is always willing to help and assist. Gody assists with many things in the studio, from preparing clay, setting up works stations to fixing absolutely anything. Gody also loves art and is currently enrolled in a drawing course at the school. Gody has been with the team since 2015.
Patience is in charge of getting all the hospitality aspects ready for our events. She is born and raised in Zimbabwe and has a diploma as a receptionist and in bookkeeping. She is a loving wife and mother a beautiful teenage girl. Patience has been apart of our studio family for over 2 years now.
Adelle Jansen van Rensburg
Adelle is our resident kids drawing teacher. She has loved art all her life and loves connecting with kids. Each week Adelle develops a new drawing skill in the students, whether it is seeing negative space or the guidelines for drawing a face, Adelle encourages and builds step by step.
Adelle’s love for psychology and human development also comes in handy. She hosts our small corporate team building events. Adding a touch of conscious living exercises. As stated, Adelle loves teaching kids art and she often hosts Kids Art Parties at our studio with fun art themes like Mexican – Frida Khalo, Starry Starry Night – Van Gogh etc.
Martie has a been a pottery teacher for over 30 years. She has a lifetime of knowledge regarding clay and knows all the tricks of the trades. Her kind patient heart loves working with children. We are honoured to have her as our Pottery teacher for the age groups 6 – 13. She focuses on developing the kids technical skills in pottery as well as 3D thinking and design. Each month the kids receive a pottery lesson with a different project from teacher Martie.
Jadri is our resident kid’s painting teacher. She not only teaches weekly classes at our school but also hosts various events and kids art parties at our studio. She loves working with children and seeing their faces light up once they have mastered a new skill. She started painting at the age of 21, and have since developed a great love for art. She finished her Masters degree in Science curriculum development at Stellenbosch University in 2016. In 2014 she was an English teacher in South Korea. Jadri is back in South Africa now and is focusing on her career as a full-time artist. In her art she tries to reconnect the bond that once existed between humans and nature.
Adult Art Teacher
A Johannesburg native, Loreál Vos started her tertiary studies in Fine Art at the University of Johannesburg in 2008. There she bolstered her passion for creating mixed media artworks, combining digital photography with traditional art techniques.
Vos graduated with her Honours degree in 2011. After a brief period of teaching, Vos returned to her studies in 2013, obtaining her Masters degree from the University of Johannesburg in 2015. During her Masters degree, Vos explored aspects of violence in post-apartheid South Africa, imagining a dystopian world in which South Africans reside.
Vos has taken part in various exhibitions since 2008, including Joburg Fringe, KKNK and the Turbine Art Fair. She has also exhibited her sculptures and ceramics in the Gauteng regional exhibition for Ceramics SA and at the Arts Association of Pretoria.
After the birth of her daughter in 2015, Vos altered her focus from the dystopian to the utopian. In an attempt to provide positive solutions for the future.
Lillian Gray started teaching art in 2015 and established the Lillian Gray Art School with her husband in 2016. They built the larger studio space and completed it in 2017. Lillian studied at Stellenbosch University, Stellenbosch Design Academy and Stellenbosch Business School. She is an international recognised artist with exhibitions in New York and London. She is best known for her contemporary oil painting portraits.
Lillian loves empowering people through art, teaching them new skills and creating a love for art history.
