Lillian Gray – Founder
Lillian Gray is a passionate fine artist, who also teaches art to all ages. As an artist,she is best known for her contemporary oil paintings executed in an impressionist style.As a teacher, she is described as a ‘storytelling artist’ using visuals to foster a love for art history and art appreciation in her audience.
Martie Rabé – Teacher
Martie has a been a pottery teacher for over 30 years. She has a lifetime of knowledge regarding clay and knows all the tricks of the trades. Her kind patient heart loves working with children, especially toddlers. We are honoured to have her as our Pottery teacher for the age groups 5 – 13.
Grizelda Liebenberg – Admin
Grizelda has been doing administration for more than 8 years. She is the official ‘left brain’ in the office, ensuring all the admin is up to date.
She is the welcoming face at the studio and the friendly voice on the other side of the phone.
Sally Rumball – Teacher
Sally completed her Fine Arts degree (cum laude) at the University of Johannesburg in 2011, she has participated in several group exhibitions and art competitions. She had her first solo exhibition at StateOfTheArt Gallery in Cape Town in August 2016 and a well-received two-person show at Halifax Gallery in Parhurst May 2017.
Godknows Nkomo – Assistant
Gody (As he is known in the studio) has a heart of gold. He is always willing to help and assist. Gody assists with many things in the studio, from preparing clay, setting up works stations to fixing absolutely anything. Gody also loves art and is currently enroled in a drawing course at the school. Soon he will move on to sculpture as well.
Adelle Jansen van Rensburg – Teacher
Adelle is our resident kids drawing teacher. She has loved art all her life and loves connecting with kids. Each week Adelle develops a new drawing skill in the students, whether it is seeing negative space or the guidelines for drawing a face, Adelle encourages and builds step by step.
