Valentine’s Day Couples Paint Night

What do I need to bring to paint night? 

Just a sense of humour and willingness to engage. We have everything set out for you, paints, artist palette, brushes, aprons, and drinks so you can sit back, relax and enjoy. You’re welcome to bring your own refreshments, including drinks, food, and snacks.

What is the structure of the paint night?

The Evening Experience: Set in a delightful and intimate atmosphere, we typically begin the evening with drinks and a chance to settle in. It’s the perfect time to relax and soak up the creative energy of the studio before we begin. Once everyone is comfortable, you will ease into the creative process at your own dedicated creative station. We provide everything you need: a sturdy easel, acrylic paints, brushes, protective aprons and your canvases.

No Drawing Required: Whether you are a seasoned artist or haven’t picked up a brush since school, our talented instructors provide step-by-step inspiration. To ensure a completely stress-free experience, all participants are provided with traces and references. This means you don’t have to worry about drawing at all, you can focus entirely on the magic of colour and the joy of painting.

Connect and Create: Throughout the evening, feel free to enjoy your drinks and snacks from our delicious communal charcuterie board as you create and connect with your partner and other guests. Refreshments can be enjoyed before, during, and after the session, making for a truly relaxed, social, and memorable creative experience. You are also more than welcome to bring along your own favourite snacks to share with the group or simply to enjoy for yourselves. By the end of the paint night, each artist will take their beautiful creation home, two A3 artworks that come together as a stunning diptych to remember your special night together forever.

What is included? 

1. Art Supplies: Two canvases A3 stretched on a frame – ready to hang. Acrylic paints, brushes, aprons,and optional plastic gloves to keep your hands clean will be provided.
2. Food to share: A delicious charcuterie board for all guests to enjoy together. You are welcome to add to the board with your own favourite snacks or treats to contribute to the spread or simply bring your own along to enjoy.
3. Drinks: A selection of fine wine and soft drinks, filtered water, and even coffee or tea if you prefer.
4. Guidance: Professional artist instruction in a fun, relaxed studio environment at the Lillian Gray Art Studio.

What exactly is a diptych?

A diptych is a single piece of art created across two separate canvases. In this workshop, you paint one side and your partner paints the other, so when you hang them together at home, they form one complete, beautiful image.

You don’t have to be an artist to be creative.

It’s okay if you’ve never painted anything but your walls before. There’s no experience necessary, and fun is our only requirement. At our Paint Nights we promise not to try and change you into Picasso overnight.
