Results of the NEA Young Artists Awards 2023

On June 17, 2023, the artistic world witnessed an inspiring display of talent and creativity at the 11th National Eisteddfod Academy Young Artists Award Ceremony. The event took place at the Alice Art Gallery in Ruimsig, and brought together young artists from across the country, showcasing their exceptional skills and creativity.

This prestigious event celebrated young talents in three age categories: Foundation Phase (Grades 0-3), Junior (Grades 4-7), and Senior (Grades 8 open). Our students competed in Drawing, Sculpture, Painting and Printmaking. We are so proud of our students who made the semi-finals and finally finals.

OVERALL CATEGORY WINNERS – 11th National Eisteddfod Academy Young Artist Awards

Our two students who clinched the Category Winners’ titles at the 11th National Eisteddfod Academy Young Artist Awards are shining examples of exceptional young talent. It is a remarkable achievement for our young artists. We are so proud of them!

  • Surayah Linah Harley – Fine Arts Painting Grade 3
  • Kelello Bellin – Fine Arts Printmaking Grade 4

In the Foundation Phase (Grades 0-3), Surayah Linah Harley’s mesmerising acrylic underwater painting earned her the top spot. Her artwork not only captured the judges’ attention but also the hearts of those who had the privilege of viewing it.

In the Junior category (Grades 4-7), Kelello Bellin’s intricate lino dog print secured her a well-deserved victory. Her artwork showcased her remarkable skill, creativity, and passion for her craft.

These young artists have demonstrated that age is no barrier to creating meaningful and inspiring works of art, and we eagerly await their continued artistic journey as they carry the torch of creativity into the future.

Our students received well-deserved recognition for their creative contributions by going through to the finals. Their artwork demonstrated not only their artistic abilities but also their unique perspectives and imagination.
